Permits & Rules in Strathmore Park

Wellington City Council
Awaiting Review
When do I need a permit?

A Wellington City Council Skip Bin Permit is required whenever a skip bin occupies public land, including a road, roadside parking space, berm or another part of the road corridor. The bin must sit wholly on the road rather than partly on the kerb or footpath and must preserve clearances from driveways, manholes, underground services and fire hydrants. Public footpaths and cycle lanes cannot be blocked. Provider identification and reflective traffic-facing markings are required, except that bins delivered and collected on the same day are exempt from the normal reflector requirement. Permits are valid for up to 14 days. Managed parking areas attract daily occupancy charges. Private-property placement normally avoids the public-land approval requirement.
