Permits & Rules in Te Pahu

Waipā District Council
Awaiting Review
When do I need a permit?

An approved non-excavation Corridor Access Request and resulting Works Access Permit are required before a skip bin is placed on a public roadside, grass berm, footpath or another part of the Waipā District transport corridor. Non-excavation CAR applications currently require a site-specific Traffic Management Plan prepared by a qualified Temporary Traffic Management Planner, with traffic controls implemented by appropriately qualified personnel. Public access must remain safe and any required pedestrian clearance, diversions, barriers or temporary controls are determined through the CAR, TMP and WAP process. Private-property placement is preferred where practical and may avoid council approval. Applications should be lodged well before delivery because timing depends on location, completeness and traffic-management complexity, and processing fees apply.
