Permits & Rules in Kairaki

Waimakariri District Council
Awaiting Review
When do I need a permit?

Council approval may be required when a skip bin is placed on or affects a Waimakariri District Council-controlled road, footpath, berm, road shoulder or parking area. A Traffic Management Plan is required whenever placement, delivery or collection changes normal road operating conditions, including some activities occurring on private property. A Corridor Access Request is not automatically required for every skip-bin placement; it is required where the activity breaks ground or creates a risk of damage to the road corridor. The Roading Team should confirm whether the proposal requires a TMP alone or both a TMP and CAR. Private-property placement is preferred, and no delivery should occur until all applicable road-corridor approvals and traffic-management requirements are in place.
