Permits & Rules in Eketāhuna

Masterton District Council
Reviewed on 12 August 2026
When do I need a permit?

A Works Access Permit is required when a skip bin occupies the Masterton District public road corridor and is obtained by lodging a non-excavation Corridor Access Request. A Temporary Traffic Management Plan is required for activities that alter the normal condition of a street, road or footpath and must protect pedestrian and driver visibility. Public footpaths cannot be completely blocked and the placement must preserve access to public infrastructure and meet the setback, separation and visibility conditions in the approved WAP and TMP. A CAR should be lodged at least five working days before placement, with additional time allowed for full approval. Private-property placement is preferred. State-highway corridors are controlled separately by NZTA Waka Kotahi.
